Please read the following terms and conditions (Terms) carefully. The Terms set out below apply to all customers entering the Karoo Win-a-Prado competition (Competition) offered by Montego Pet Nutrition (Pty) Ltd (Montego). If you do not agree to the Terms, refrain from entering the Competition. Entering the Competition is deemed as your acceptance of the Terms and an acknowledgement of your legal capacity to enter. Entries not complying with any of the Terms are invalid and will be discarded.
As listed below, Terms relating to risk, legal responsibilities and liability are important because they limit and exclude liability and legal responsibilities that Montego and other third parties or entities may otherwise be held liable for. As a result of these clauses, your rights and remedies against Montego and other parties are limited and / or excluded. These clauses also limit and / or exclude your right to recover from or make claims against Montego for any potential loss, damages, liability or harm you or others may suffer as a result of you entering and participating in the Competition.
Entrants are responsible for checking the website for potential updates to the Terms during the campaign period, from 3 March 2025 to 9 June 2025.
1. By entering this Competition, entrants agree to the Terms set out as follows:
2. The Competition is exclusive to customers who purchase Montego Pet Nutrition Karoo dry food products from either the Limited Ingredient or Targeted Care ranges (Adult dog, Small Breed Puppy, Large Breed Puppy, Senior dog, Adult cat, or Kitten in any weight) during the campaign period.
3. There are three methods to enter the Competition:
3.1 By dialling the USSD code *120*84437# from any cellular phone or device and following the instructions; or
3.2 By filling the online entry form on the dedicated competition page on www.montego.co.za; or
3.3 By scanning the Competition QR code (standard data rates apply when entering online).
4. Customers who enter by dialling the USSD code from any cellular phone or device, must follow the instructions to complete their entry. Note: the cost of the USSD session is 20 cents per 20 seconds, which is deducted from the entrant’s airtime. Minutes and SMS contracts do not apply; airtime would need to be loaded onto the device to allow entry.
5. Entrants must enter from a mobile number that is RICA compliant, registered in their own name and owned by themselves. No entrant can use another person’s mobile number for the purpose of entering the Competition. Any entrant who uses a phone other than their own for the purposes of entry may have their entry disqualified at the sole discretion of Montego.
6. Entrants are responsible for following the instructions and entering in their details correctly in the dial-in USSD session or on the online entry form.
7. Customers may enter multiple times. Each Montego Pet Nutrition Karoo dry food product from either the Limited Ingredient or Targeted Care ranges purchased during the Competition period validates an entry to the Competition.
8. Entrants must retain proof of purchase as the winner will be required to present this proof to claim the prize (Prize). If the winner cannot prove all their entries, they will be disqualified, and a substitute winner will be drawn.
9. Once entered, entrants will have the option to take part in an online survey to receive one free additional entry. This is entirely optional. The survey consists of 10 short questions and is entirely confidential. Only one survey entry per entrant is allowed regardless of how many entries were submitted.
10. The Competition ends at 23:59 SAST on 9 June 2025. Any late entries are invalid. The winner will be selected by random draw, contacted and announced after the closing of the Competition, but no later than 30 July 2025.
11. The Prize is a brand-new Toyota Prado 2.8GD TX valued at R1 315 700. Note that the actual colour and vehicle rims may differ from that reflected in competition and advertising material.
12. Montego will arrange Prize delivery details and registration with the winner. The winner will be required to sign an indemnity form in addition to the Terms during the handover and delivery process.
13. The Competition is only valid within South African borders. Entrants must be in South Africa when they enter the Competition. When their entry goes through verification and when Montego delivers the Prize, if they are declared a winner. Failing that, the entry will be disqualified, and the draw of a replacement winner shall commence.
14. Montego will notify the winner by way of telephone call and email per the contact details provided upon entry and announce the winner on Montego social media pages (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn).
15. In the unlikely event of the winner being disqualified per the Terms, a substitute winner will be drawn.
16. The Prize does not include servicing and maintenance plans for the vehicle, fuel, insurance or additions to the Prize after it is awarded. All risk and liability in and to the prize vehicle will transfer to the winner upon him/her taking physical delivery of the prize vehicle.
17. The winner will be required to provide all necessary information and documentation required for the registration of the Prize vehicle to the name of relevant party involved.
18. Once the Prize is delivered and registered in the winner’s name, the winner takes full responsibility for the Prize, which includes the Prize’s insurance.
19. Montego is not accountable for any unfortunate, subsequent incidents which involve the Prize or Competition which include but is not limited to defects, damages, accidents, theft, injuries or death.
20. The Prize cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash or for any other goods or services.
21. The Competition and its entry requirements are subject to stock availability. Montego is not responsible for possible stock shortages during the Competition. Karoo stock is delivered to retailers who order Karoo products during the Competition period, according to their specific order preferences and quantities.
22. The Competition is only open to South African citizens who possess a valid South African identity document or passport, or visitors with valid proof of South African residency, who are 18 years old or older, and who are in possession of a valid South African driver’s licence.
23. Montego, through subcontractors, may access specific information which identifies entrant’s personal information (Personal Information), as defined by the Protection of Personal Information Act. Montego and its subcontractors will comply with laws and regulations applicable to your Personal Information and any other related information. By entering the Competition, entrants’ consent to subcontractors processing their Personal Information related to the entrant’s participation in the Competition.
24. Personal Information will be retained as long as reasonably and legally required to perform the obligations required by the Terms of the Competition.
25. The Competition excludes employees, directors, owners, agents, distributors, consultants, suppliers, their immediate family members, or anyone directly connected to or in the employment of participating retailers, Toyota and its dealerships, Montego Pet Nutrition (Pty) Ltd, its subsidiaries, business partners, associates and advertising agencies.
26. Montego Pet Nutrition may request that photos be taken of the Competition winner. These photos could be used on social media platforms, blogs and websites.
27. By entering the Competition, all entrants and winners agree to be bound by these rules, which will be interpreted by Montego, whose decision regarding any dispute will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the decision. Montego reserves the right to amend, modify, change, postpone, suspend or cancel the Competition and any Prizes, or any aspect thereof, without notice, at any time, for any reason that Montego deems necessary.
